CASA Board of Directors - Call for Nominations
CASA is now accepting nominations for its Board of Directors, with elections taking place at this year’s CASA Annual Conference in Monterey.
Six Board seats are open:
- Four full four-year terms
- Two three-year terms
- One seat must be filled by a physician
Serving on the CASA Board is a unique opportunity to support your peers, influence key decisions, and help shape the future of the ASC industry across California. We encourage dedicated professionals from CASA’s voting membership - regardless of center type or affiliation - to consider applying.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for board members who are genuinely invested in shaping the future of the ASC community - leaders who are ready to bring their perspective, contribute their expertise, and have a meaningful voice in CASA’s direction.
Whether you lead an independent, single-specialty center or are part of a large corporate ASC group, your experience matters, and your voice has a place at the table.
The CASA Nominating Committee will consider geographic diversity, representation across freestanding and corporate ASCs, and prior involvement with CASA. Above all, we’re looking for individuals who are committed to contributing, collaborating, and helping lead the association forward.

- Why you are interested in serving on the CASA Board
- Any past volunteer contributions to CASA

What’s Next
The final Board slate will be shared with CASA members no later than August 24, 2026.
Elections will be held Thursday, September 3, 2026, at the Annual General Membership Meeting in conjunction with the CASA Annual Conference in Monterey.

Turn Safety Goals into Everyday Practice at the CASA 2026 Annual Conference – Check out the Quality Track Breakout Sessions
Every ASC wants a strong culture of safety. Building one takes ongoing attention, good information, and a team that feels empowered to identify concerns and help solve them. The Quality Track at the CASA 2026 Annual Conference will give attendees practical ways to bring those pieces together.
In “Safety in Motion: Using QAPI to Identify Risks and Drive Change,” Janette Lischeske, MHA, RN, BSN, and Ann Hurd, BSN, RN, CNOR, HACP-CMS will show how ASCs can use QAPI to make safety part of daily operations. The session will cover ways to use data to spot risks, focus improvement efforts, engage frontline staff, and turn quality goals into meaningful action.
Attendees will hear real-world examples of how organizations have strengthened safety through proactive problem-solving and greater team involvement. The discussion will also help leaders nurture a culture where employees feel comfortable raising concerns, sharing ideas, and taking an active role in improving patient care.
The Quality Track will offer even more useful content, including a session on using OAS CAHPS and discharge insights to improve the patient experience and strengthen operations. Another session will provide a practical look at designing and sustaining a safe, compliant moderate sedation program as surgical volumes grow and anesthesia resources remain limited.
The CASA Annual Conference brings together valuable education, experienced speakers, and ASC colleagues who understand the opportunities and pressures facing today’s centers. Join us September 2-4 in Monterey for ideas you can use, conversations that can spark new approaches, and connections that continue well beyond the conference.
