Protocols for the COVID-19 Exposed Healthcare Worker
With the recent surge across California, ASCs are finding their staff more and more vulnerable to COVID-19 exposure. Despite the stringent protocols and policies ASCs are implementing, healthcare workers could be exposed at the center, but often face a great risk of exposure through family, community or social interactions. ASCs need to be prepared to address potential exposures when notified by their staff or through contact tracing. From testing, to symptoms strategies, to return to work requirements, these metrics seem to be changing weekly. This session will address the latest protocols and approaches ASCs should be implementing to assure a safe environment while maintaining an adequate work force.
The CASA Business meeting is an important update for CASA members. This annual update will be led by CASA President Michelle George and walk the members through CASA’s activities for the past year as well as the vision for moving forward. This will also be an opportunity to hear from the CASA Board candidates prior to the election process that will open following the meeting.
As we wrap up the Business meeting we will pivot to our annual legislative update. This popular session will discuss recent national and state legislative and regulatory activities. As California moves forward navigating through the pandemic and we move into another presidential election season, this session explores the healthcare implications ASCs can anticipate on both the national and state level. Bryce Docherty CASA Legislative Advocate will update attendees on the issues affecting California ASCs and Bill Prentice CEO ASCA will highlight the National perspective.
Our world has been seriously disrupted by COVID-19, and no one is immune from this. It has affected our health, finances, mental stability, just to mention a few things. We’ve had to adjust to a different and increasingly onerous list of infection control practices which have affected our ASC efficiency.
Have you learned from COVID-19? Have you made any improvements based on the changes you’ve made? Did you study the improvements?
This webinar will walk you through a QAPI project using the AAAHC 10-step program. The goal is to provide better patient care, so the presentation will demonstrate how to achieve this goal. It will also include a list of QI studies to give centers ideas of processes they could examine to achieve increased quality.
