Key Essentials of the Position: Ensure patient safety through appropriate transport, transfer, and positioning of patient. Monitor environment to ensure sterile technique is maintained throughout the procedure(s). Ensure all appropriate equipment / supplies are available and ready prior to start of surgery. Assist anesthesia in patient induction and emergence of patient. Coordinate closely with surgical technician to ensure optimum patient care. Administer sedation analgesia under the direction of the attending physician. Administer and control narcotics and medications for conscious sedation as directed by a physician. Monitor the patient’s level of consciousness through communication and appropriate observation of blood pressure, O2 saturation, cardiac and respiratory status. Evaluate outcomes and adjust nursing care process as necessary in consultation with other nursing staff / physicians.

Core RN Competencies: Bachelor degree in nursing with current CA RN license, current ACLS and PALS card with minimum two years of nursing circulating experience (including Ortho, ENT, Gyn, Urology, Ophthalmology and GI preferred). IV therapy experience. IV therapy experience. Excellent patient care, strong organizational and time management skills. EMR (EPIC) experience desirable.

This key RN management role will be responsible for the daily administration and operations of the center; oversee the budgeting, regulatory compliance, surgical services and maintenance of center. Lead and supervise clinical and front office staff members while continuing to develop and enhance company goals and objectives for the center.

Key Essentials:

▪ Ensure TSA maintains an effective open access program for preceding 12 month period.

▪ Responsible for consistently meeting center revenue, cost and profit goals. Meet center budget for medical supplies, clinical support staff salaries, and facility costs. Prepare and submit center's capital and operating budgets in timely manner.

▪ Achieve and maintain an overall patient satisfaction ratings measured by TSA Patient Survey Report results.

▪ Resolve patient, physician and staff grievances.

▪ Continue to implement and comply with company wide customer service program initiatives. Oversee customer service levels and maintain telephone abandonment rates.

▪ Implement and monitor operational / center policies and processes.

▪ Ensure our physicians have appropriate resources to practice; collaborate and work effectively with Specialty Chair and specialty department heads. Provide physician teams with timely clinical and business information to ensure our physicians are updated with clinic activities.

▪ Hands on involvement with recruiting, hiring and mentoring new staff members. Conduct coaching, counseling and termination when required. Complete performance reviews and submit documents according to established timelines. Ensure staffing levels are appropriate for optimal center operations.

▪ Responsible for safe working conditions; proactive in addressing safety concerns and conducting effective investigations following injuries.

▪ Updated communication and detailed meeting minutes provided to Vice President of Operations.

▪ Develop and implement a marketing plan for the center in conjunction with corporate Marketing / Business Development. Participate in company and region wide committees and improvement processes such as Ops projects and focus groups.

Requirements: RN degree, 3 - 5 years related experience including OR and recovery room nursing background. Solid regulatory knowledge, budgeting experience, strong organizational and communication skills to provide leadership and work effectively with nursing team, front office staff, physicians and patients. Ability to quickly identify challenges and provide resolution; must be flexible and adaptable to a fast pace and changing environment.

Materials Manager
Location: Oakland Area

Webster Surgery Center is currently searching for a Materials Manager for our 4 Operating Room Ambulatory Surgery Center.

This position will work directly with the surgeons, nursing director and administration in making sure supplies, instruments and equipment are provided for the day to day operations.

Must have at a minimum five years managing materials in an ASC or similar, and must show adequate training/skill in a certified technician program, military training, or have worked as a surgical technician scrubbing general, orthopedic, plastic, and urology procedures. And, must have an understanding of Sterile Processing.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

-Assisting and supporting Administrator, Surgeons, and Directors in the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Plan.
-Provides and makes available all supplies and equipment for surgical procedures.
-Communicates with surgeons regarding their preference for supplies.
-Maintains an appropriate stock level utilizing efficient inventory management.
-Makes purchasing decisions with regard to cost containment.
-Managing routine biomedical equipment inspections.
-Provides in-services to staff on equipment, instruments etc. as needed.
-Must have knowledge of proper sterile packaging, shelf life and storage criteria for sterility maintenance.
-Must be able to run daily checks and weekly bacteriological tests of the autoclaves, Steris machines and keep log books.
-Must have an understanding of precautions used in handling infectious waste and disposal.
-Work well with physicians, employees, patients and others.
-Write policy and procedures related to Manufacturer guidelines, use of materials, chemicals, supplies, equipment, etc. Review annual polices with other team members annually.

Quality Manager/Director of Nursing
